You are the expert in your own problem

You probably have been solving your own problems for a long time either with your hands, excel spreadsheet, or with other generic software program. If someone has to explain every detail about your work, It is not CEO, your team leader, but it is you, you are the best person for this job in your organization. You know A to Z about this problem and the entire history. You know better than anyone how awful the current process and solution is and ironically because you have complained about this a lot. You have thought about "What if ..." every single day to make this work easier and efficient.

You know what to automate

If you let someone build the solution for you, the hardest part is that dude has no idea what to touch and what to leave alone — and what to never touch. For the part about "not to automate" it also divides into cannot automate and must not automate. Of course you can have that IT dude sit right next to you and explain but it would take weeks or sometimes even months. You are the expert in this work process, you can break your work into small chunk of steps and define which one to automate, and this is a great benefit.

You have been using generic sw tools or even some customized SaaS for years. Even if there is one very niche customized SaaS for you, still it is not only for you so they cannot listen to your voice and build it for you. However, if you build your own one, your AI agent will do exactly what you ask, every time. You've been complaining about this work longer than anyone — so finally, complain to something that finally listens and fixes it.

I am not asking you to become a developer. Not even close. It is like learning how to use excel. There is no reason to avoid or be afraid. AI is your new excel, and whether or not you like this, you have to accept this. Either you use it, or you get left behind. It is good to have weekly internal demo how each individual used AI to automate or delegate their work to AIs. Some might say if they use AI and replace their daily work with AI, then they will lose their job. The person who can use and manage AI will survive but, who are afraid of using AI because of their employment stabiltiy, will definitely lose their job. It's only a matter of time — and not much of it.
